AAVEK - History and Brand Story

Through thoughtful design and careful sourcing, we aim to prove that responsibility and style can coexist beautifully.

About Aavek

Aavek was founded in 2024 by Manjari and Mani as a sustainable, contemporary fashion brand for women and men.

The idea behind Aavek is simple yet intentional: to create clothing that feels effortless — pieces you can wear to work during the day and seamlessly carry into a relaxed evening with family and friends. We design for real life. For movement. For comfort. For longevity.

At the heart of Aavek lies a deep respect for fabric, craftsmanship, and responsibility. Our collections are crafted using sustainable yarns such as organic cotton and premium linen — chosen not only for their environmental benefits, but for how they feel on the skin. These fabrics breathe, soften with time, and age beautifully. They are designed to be worn for long hours, offering ease without compromising on elegance.

A Conscious Response to Fast Fashion

The fashion industry is undergoing a necessary transformation. For decades, it has been dominated by high-street brands offering rapidly changing trends at very low prices. While accessible, this model often depends on synthetic poly-blend fabrics and mass production systems that leave a heavy environmental footprint.

Millions of tonnes of discarded garments end up in landfills every year. Non-biodegradable fabrics continue to pollute ecosystems. The true cost of “cheap fashion” is paid by the planet.

Aavek exists as a conscious response to this reality.

We believe sustainable fabrics can be contemporary, refined, and desirable. Organic and natural fibres not only reduce environmental impact but are also healthier for the wearer — allowing the skin to breathe while delivering lasting comfort.

Through thoughtful design and careful sourcing, we aim to prove that responsibility and style can coexist beautifully.

Our Approach: Slow, Intentional, Personal

Aavek produces in small batches, refreshing colours and collections regularly. This allows us to minimise waste while offering our customers something considered and special rather than mass-produced.

Every Aavek garment is designed to be

  • Durable
  • Timeless
  • Versatile
  • Meaningful

We do not chase trends. We build wardrobes.

Our Legacy

Aavek is built on over three decades of hands-on experience in the fashion industry.

Our family's journey began in 1990 in a small shed in New Delhi, manufacturing garments for European high-street brands. Through persistence, discipline, and craftsmanship, this grew into three factories housing over 600 machines - supplying to global names such as H&M, Primark, Auchan, and Cubus.

Manjari joined the business in 1998 after completing her studies in Fashion and Garment Technology in Manchester, UK. Since 2003, she has been based in Mumbai, where she successfully ran her label, Stories by MNB, designing and supplying ethnic wear to prominent stores across the city, and beachwear to Elizabeth Hurley in London.

Mani and his mother bring over 30 years of deep manufacturing expertise - understanding fabrics, construction, sourcing, and the realities of large-scale production from the ground up.

Aavek is not a start-up born from theory. It is built on lived experience.

A New Beginning

The COVID-19 pandemic marked a turning point. Several international buyers faced heavy losses or bankruptcy, leading to the closure of our export business in its existing form.

Rather than seeing this as an end, we saw it as an opportunity to reset.

We moved to Mumbai and shifted our focus to the Indian domestic market - a market we believe is evolving rapidly. Indian consumers today are more aware, discerning, and conscious of what they wear. Compared to the saturated European market, India offers space for brands rooted in quality, sustainability, and authenticity.

Aavek is our way forward.

A brand shaped by experience.
Guided by responsibility.
Driven by the belief that fashion should feel good, look good, and do good.
